Default Speedo swap

I have the factory km/hr speedo from my 2003 FLSTSi (swapped at purchase with the combo speedo/tach unit). I'm purchasing a 2001 FLSTSi out of the US and as part of the import process, I have to have a km/hr speedo before it will pass inspection. Is there any reason the 2003 speedo won't work with the 2001?

After inspection I'll revert back to the stock 2001 speedo, I just don't want to have to purchase a new one for inspection purposes.

Money hasn't exactly changed hands, yet. How about answering the question.

On a serious note... Does it have to actually work, or just show KM/HR on the numbers?

After making a call to Medicine Hat HD and talking to the owner, he confirmed that the speedo was the same 2000 through 2003 (or later) so I should be good. The odometer will be wrong (probably has under 50 km (30 miles) on it, but I'll be able to pass inspection with it.

Woohoo, this is good news.
