I decided to install some Nightrider VIED's on my Slim. Installing and grounding the rear plug was easy since it is right under the seat. The front plug was a bit more difficult and it is where I am stuck. The plug goes right under the voltage regulator, but there is no where near the front of the bike that I can ground the plug too.
What options do I have here? Is running a longer ground wire back to the negative terminal post my best option?
I took the VIED's off until I could get a good ground for both plugs.
I grounded the front one under one of the regulator mounting bolts.
No issues.
I had the rear one grounded directly to the (-) terminal of the battery, but I've since moved that to the ground strip immediately in front of the battery, on the frame. Electrically it probably made no difference whatsoever, I just wanted to get it off the battery.
I added mine -after- the Stage 1 remap, and I'm very happy with the results.

Thanks for the quick reply. I had the rear set up just how you describe it. So the front one is mounted to the engine then, right?

I'll go get you a quick pic... hold on...
EDIT: Here you go - the red arrow is the ViED ground...
The ViED itself is located behind this regulator, on the bottom where you found the front cylinder O2 plug.
I just folded it over and tucked it right back in there with a couple zip ties - BUT I taped it all up beforehand since it's in harm's way...

That is exactly how my front was set up, but I took it down because I wasn't sure about grounding it there.
Have you seen any issues with it being grounded there?
