So I decided to buy a Cross Bones and came across two Xbones. One a 2008 and another 2011 model. The 2011 model costs 2K more than the 2008 with same milage of 9000 Miles on both bikes.
Both bike are in perfect condition. But according to totalmotorcycle.com on the 2010 onwards there was some modification done to the 5th gear as stated below:
* New Fuel tank sender for accurate fuel-level readings
* New Helical cut 5th gear for improved transmission sound
Anyone having a 2008 or later Xbones with known of similar issues? And if yes what is the real issue here?
Is the front end Springer the same on all 2008 through to 2011??
Not sure of the issues. I have a 2008 and no problems. If you do end up getting one we will have taken a similar path. I started with an 09 Nightster, went to an 11 Streetbob and now an 08 Cross Bones.
Not sure about the issues you mentioned, but if it were me, I'd buy the newer one. 2011 is the last year those beautiful Springers were manufactured. What are the colors?
i have an 08, no issues at all. i'd get the '08... first model year and doesnt have the cartoon skull on the oil tank. and i like the paint better. but look at them both and get the one you want, its your bike. either one will be great you'll love it
