I don't think some of you get it. with midpegs you could stand up while moving and let some blood flow back into your azz. with foward control this can't be done.has nothing to do with the seat or comfort of the deuce just the need to stand while riding. re-position....

When my legs or butt start to bother me I stop and get off the bike for a couple of minutes. At my age you gotta stop for nature's call all the time anyway so I don't see it as a big deal. Of course its what you get used to too; I haven't had a bike withpegs directly under my butt since I got rid of that 305 Honda Dream back in '65.

I am very comfortable with the forward controls and until my first harleyalways had mids. It did take a few starts/stops for my legs to learn how to behave. I noticed that nobody addressed the pothole/bump issue so let me do so. First I will I would like to be able to stretch and let blood back into the old butt and mids allow that behavior like others have said. I am sitting here with 2 broken vertebrae from a monster pothole encounter. True, it was at night and I did not see it coming so I guess being able to take the impact on legs would not have been an option...but bike was coming up when I was coming down and SMACK. There have been a few times in daylight when I saw a big bump coming and would have liked to shift weight to legs rather than sit there thinking "oh shoot" or something like that. Amazingly,I did not go down nor were wheels/suspension harmed for those of you more worried about how the bike made out. The Deuce is lowered 1 1/2" with bolts and a Progressive front kit, it does not normally bottom out but almost certainly it did then. I am about to spend some $ on rear shocks or air ride to help reduce possibility of a repeat. Hindsight ( pardon pun ) and all that. John

Very good point. It is definitely nice to be able to stand on mid pegs and take the jolt with your legs instead of your azz and back. Just like on a bicycle, when you see a bump coming you stand on the peddles.

This is not a debate on which is better, mid or forward controls. I would just like the ability to put my feet in either position no matter where theactual controls are.

put your left foot on the PRimary. I have been doing this for years. I also have heel rest. you can stand on the primary. heel rest were an awsome investment you can stand on them too.

Mid pegs sound like a good idea. I usually let one leg hang
a little and then the other when they get numb. I'm just wondering where you could possibly position the pegs without
interfering with theleaning angle of the bike.
