I'll be the naysayer. I had Freedom Duals and they advertised them as being fully heat shielded and they weren't. They obviously discolored and didn't have full heat shields to cover the discoloration.
Interesting. Not sure when you ordered them but mine are indeed "fully heat shielded" and I bought them last May. They look impeccable and are top notch quality.
Maybe they were an older set?
I'm probably going to get the pipes jet hot coated. Bluing shouldn't be an issue and my hope is will help with the heat on the left side. That's the pipes not heat shields. So even if part of the pipes are visible under the heat shields there shouldn't be any discoloration present. I used jet hot on my 5.0 Mustang and those headers looked new even after 6 years of abuse.
