Wont start

My 2008 fuel injected softail deluxe will not start, when I first turned on the ignition switch the lights came on, the fuel pump came on I turned on the run switch all seemed fine then the turn signal indicators flashed several time and the oil light started flashing and then nothing. Lights went out and seemed like battery was dead, tested battery with a volt meter and it was fine. Turned the ignition switch off then on acc and it seemed to come back to life. Tried again and all the same things happened. All the fuses are good, battery stays on a battery tender, started it and rode it 2 weeks ago, and all worked fine. Any body got any ideas.

Sounds like something wrong with your right side handlebar wiring. Possibly a shorted run/start switch or broken wire.

When you say battery tested "fine" what was the reading...??

Get out your owners manual and go through the key FOB setup. Your FOB battery may have died also.

The first and easiest thing you should do is disconnect and clean the battery cables. That will at the least eliminate that as being the problem.

Sounds like a security problem[like dead fob battery,but testing a battery with a volt meter tells you nothing about the condition of the battery. It needs to be Load tested.
