I'm pretty sure you're going to need new cables. I'm doing the same thing to mine and I pulled my cables last weekend and I very highly doubt the throttle cables have enough slack for 12" bars. The cluck and brake cable yes And the wires will definitely have to be extended.

I have 10s on mine and that was the limit. I wanted to keep the FXST pull back risers but had to go with 1 1/2" riser to fit the stock cables. The brake line was the limiting factor.

cool thanks guys for the answer. Previous owner had the stock bars that look like they have a 6" rise to them on a 6" riser. Looked like I had enuff to get more but.....lol. alright 10" bars it is. Thanks again guys and I will be doing a build thread soon. I scored this little 07 FXST for $6000 this fall with 17k on her. Needs some TLC but over all its solid.

Will 10" on 2" riser be able to run internal wires? With no mods?
