Default PC III question

Are Power Commanders all they're cracked up to be? My bike runs fine, I guess. I have some decel popping that annoys me, butI doubt it's hurting anything. Backfires occasionally when I start it, not enough to really concern me. Mine is a stage 1 88". Just wondering what opinions you guys have of these things? Worth the $300 plus?

I'm very happy with mine. It's user friendly. When I make mods, I can change the PCIII to suit my changes. When I finally settle down, I'll get a pro to dial it in for me though.
The bike is much happier with the richer mixture. Ran way too lean in stock trim.

Do a some shopping around, I paid closer to $250 for my PCIII usb, I had to put some kind of fuel mgt system in after I installed the pipes on my 07, Its well worth getting it mapped, I didnt find a good "canned" map that matched my system. working pretty good so far.

I am pleased with mine. My bike ran similar to yours it sounds like. My bike ran fine, only had the occasional popping on decel. I went ahead and spent the cash for the PCIII to get rid of the pop. Just for my own peace of mind. I had it dyno tuned and now the bike pops only once in a blue moon. Usually between shifting whenI am really getting on it. Picked up about 4 hp and 4 tq in the process. Bought mine from Jamie at fuelmotousa.com, he doubles the manufacturer warranty, so it is two years, cost was $269.00 + $13.00 shipping.

I got mine at fuelmoto also, got rid of the popping on decel, annoying to me. If you can find a good dyno-tuning center it will asure you get the proper fuel delivery and timing at every RPM and throttle position. If they have the tuning link, the computer will basicly write the MAP automaticaly durring the dyno runs, based on air/fuel, taking any guess work out of adjusting.

I think I will get one. More out of curiousity than anything else. It would be nice to get rid of the popping, I don't need a race bike or anythingbut it would be fun to be able to walk away from my buddies Heritage! (I guess I already can but at a slow pace, I wanna RUN away from him!)
