I have been thinking for a while to buy a detachable Batwing fairing for my Slim. I have a light bar and already have the harley detachable windscreen. I was wondering if I could use my Harley hardware that stays on the bike with the aftermarket batwings. I'm looking at either a Memphis shades or Quadzilla (or whatever its called).
Anyone have any experience and/or pictures of these on an FL Softail?
I have the Memphis shades and it uses a little different hardware. I like the fairing much better than the windshield and I think it looks better than it too. Imo the windshield makes it look like a police bike. Love the hot rod nature of my slim didn't want a touring bike so the fairing helps give me the best of both worlds and it sure has been nice on those cold days I might not have ridden.
What's the model of your fairing and hardward to had to get to fit it on?
It does look very cool
thanks Mon
Mon,
I'll answer just in case badger doesn't see your inquiry.
Its Memphis Shades.
The fairing is PN# 2330-0017
The mounts come from Memphis Shades (trigger lock PN# 2320-0091). The fairing comes off much like a quick release windshield.
I have one on my Slim and just did a two day trip from St. Louis to Indy to Michigan and back to St. Louis and was really pleased with the wind protection.
Its not quite as good protection as a stock FLH fairing as it is a bit smaller but it needs to be to look right in the Slim.
