Hey all, new to this forum and have so far gotten tons of useful info. I am thinking of buying an 05 Deuce and the dealer is charging a base price of $19045.00. According to the MOCO web site, the high MSRP should be 17580.00. Now I know the dealer needs to make his money, but isn't almost $1500.00 over MSRP a little stiff? Am curious what others here have paid. Thanks for any inputs.
Don't do it! Shop around, there are plenty of dealers selling at MSRP and sometimes even below. Unless it is a limited model, there is no reason to pay over MSRP for it, even then it's not right.
I just bought my 2006 Deluxe yesterday. The first dealer (Vacaville Ca) wanted $400 over MSRP - but said he was open to negotiations. The second dealer (in San Francisco) was selling at invoice. Vacaville dealer said he might match that price but he wanted a faxed confirmation. When I went back to the SF dealer and told him I might buy from Vacaville out of loyalty he said ' what will it take for you to buy it here'. I said take $150 off MSRP and I'll buy it today- and I did. I pick it up next week.
So, long story short -- shop around -- they'll drop the price
I didn't read the fine print -- didn't realize that you were talking about the 2005 models. Three weeks ago two seperate dealerships immediately offered me 1 grand off for their 2005 Deluxe's. Considering it's now 3 weeks later and they're getting more anxious to move last years merchandize --you could maybe probably bump that up another $500 to $1000.
I just ordered my 06 Deuce with 2 tone paint, EFI, Security system and freight for $17474.00. Some dealers are not wanting to take up floor space for the next few months and want to move the bikes out the door. The hard part is finding that dealer! But they are out there.
I nearly bought a two-tone blue and white deluxe from a certain dealer here in houston. they wouldn't budge on the price because "these are the last of the 05's". most dealers are looking to get rid of old stock and make room for the new models. i ended up getting a much better deal a a different dealer.
