Default Engine Black 2003 Heritage

Greetings
I got a 2003 Heritage Softail Classic.
The PO had gotten wax on the parts of engine next to the covers, and in general the black on the engine is looking kinda sad, dull etc. What can I use to sharpen the engine black up?
I have tried Armor all as some suggested, ...no change!
Thanks
Ed

I'm interested too, the dealer detailer did a shitty job and got wax on the engine….

Heres a few products that folks rave about:

I think you're gonna need to remove as much of the smudging-stains as possible before hand, with some Simple Green and a plastic bristle brush.

Some simple green and a toothbrush should get the wax out. I like to use wd40 on my engine case, gives it a nice shine. Also helps prevent corrosion

Use Pig Spit. I'm in my big rig right now or I'd snap a picture of the can in my garage . Works great . I got polish on the black parts of the fins on the jugs. Pig spit sprays on and comes out like brand new. Really black . Good stuff .

I drown Fat Boy motor in WD40. Then just wipe off the chrome. Keeps the fixings looking fresh as well.

I never say trust me, but trust me on this.. I had the same issue with my Heritage. S1 makes a product specifically to blacken the black engines. It worked FANTASTIC on my bike. The nozzle has a pad attached to get in the fins. No mess either!
