Default Stalling issue

I have a 2008 FXSTC that has stalled 2 times recently when going slow. The motor seems to run fine but as I was slowing down it just kind of ran a little rough, idled real low and stalled. Both times I was coming to a stop and wasn't able to grab the throttle and rev it to see if it would come back. The motor is stock with the exception of Rush slip ons. It starts right back up and runs fine again. Any suggestions on what I should check?

Sounds like a pinched vent tube. Have you recently removed the gas tank?

Try replacing speed sensor. I had the same issues and that seemed to solve it for me.

+1 on the speed sensor. Pay attention to the speedo and turn sigs as well. If the speedo seems a bit jumpy or inaccurate, or the sigs don't self cancel after a turn, then definitely the speed sensor. Might also just be dirty, it's on top of the trans right side of bike. Pop it off and see if the magnet is all gummed up with shavings.

Recently had the same situation. My problem was a faulty Idle Air Control Valve but the Vehicle Speed Sensor could also be the at fault.

Thanks for the replies. I'll check the speed sensor and go from there.

Had the same symptoms on my 2077 FXSTC.

Replaced IAC, and all kinds of other sensors, problem persisted.

Replaced VSS (vehicle speed sensor), problem fixed.
