Well, I officially joined the softail family today! Traded in my forty eight for a new slim; picked it up today. Absolutely loved the 48, but is was not comfortable for me at all if I wanted to do any riding on the freeway. I've been eyeing the slim ever since I bought the 48 last year. My original plan was to buy the slim after I paid off the sportster and keep both, but I made the mistake of test driving one last week. Night and day difference! It's actually hard to compare them to one another; they're completely different animals. The sporty is killer to ride, but for me the level of comfort on the slim sold it. I still haven't stopped grinning.
Lost a little on the trade, but it wasn't enough to make me uncomfortable. Dealer threw in some cobra slip-ons and their download. I'll do an air cleaner as soon as I decide on one. I am getting a lot of decel pop since they switched the pipes, but I'm planning on grabbing some vied's; had the xied's on the 48 and they worked like a charm. Hopefully they'll cool this beast down a bit. These things run pretty hot, yeah? Anyway, that's my story for today! Here's a couple pics(warning: I am no photographer)
