Ok so I put 14" ape hangers on my 2012 Fatboy, the problem is they are not what I was expecting. I tried out a buddies Fatboy with 16" Ape Hangers and they were to high for me to be comfortable but the 14" are I think a little to low. Would like to reduce an inch at the seat height I think, but how can I change the seat height cheap. The fatboy low and the deluxe both sit lower and I believe all softail frames are the same frame set-up so how can I get a lower seat height like the Deluxe. Does anyone know? All Comments would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Get some higher risers?
Raise them to desired height?
I sat on a deluxe with the same set-up I have on my fatboy and it was exactly what I want. That is why I got the 14" with the 1.5" risers. Already spent out a ton of money on these handle bars and don't really want to lose money by buying parts I already bought. But thanks for the input, already had that running through my head.
The ride height for a fatboy is 25" and a fatboy lo is 24.25" and a deluxe is 24.50". It truly is amazing how a 1/2" and 3/4" can make a huge difference. I really would love to drop a full 1" all together.
Not a cheap option but you could go with a shotgun shock or look for a set of stock deluxe or fatboy lo shocks left from someone who has already made the switch.
