Stopped by the dealer last week to check out the Fat Boy Screamin Eagle 2006. Nothing on the floor. Took home brochure. The Big Twin 103 with all of that chrome looks sweet, but the custom colors selection, I just can't come up with what seems out of place. Anyone see the bike versus the brochure. Whats the general opinion on this years model.
Only seen photos so far. It is supposed to have a 200mm rear tire and a 6 speed trans. I may put the trans in mine at a later date........
I like my '05. Great bike.
A few weeks back when I went to the HD dealership to take care of some business, they had a SE FB on the floor and it sure got my attention. It was a great lookin bike, it had a great price also. For those that like that particular style it will make them proud to be seen riding it around.
At the dealer today, saw an 06 SE FB! Sweet, looks even better than last year's (no offense to those who own those:> I just liek the colors better. I didn't look too hard, cause at $29K, I woudl rather get a BigDog.
A few weeks ago another area dealer had 2 '05 SE FB marked down $5k!!!!!!!
They are sweet man!
I have seen the yellow and blue. It looks much better in person than in the book. There are 2 ways to go for paint IMO, sporty or classy. The yellow/blue and purple/red are the sporty and the autumn haze/blue is the classy. I would like to see the autumn haze/blue myself but there are none in my state at this time. I think the 06 is hands down better than last years. The paint schemes are much better (I like flames, dammit), the 200 rear is proportionate to the bike finally, and the road winder wheels are awesome. Problem is money, as you can get a full custom bike for the same money, but will it hold value like the Fatboy is the question????
P.S. Taildragger dave, I don't believe there is a 6 speed standard in them. If it is, it is not in the brochure I have...
From what I understand, only the Dyna family gets the new 6-speed. I do think the 200 rear tire looks great and would really
like to understand how to install it on my 03 Fat Boy. Again, the 6 is only in the Dyna stock or S.E. Mark
P.S. the S.E. V Rod has a 240 out back for 06.
i love the look of those se fatboys. went to get my '05 and almost went with the se but decided to get the stock one and half the fun has been adapting it to what i want it to be.
i would worry that with buying one of those se bikes everythings already done and theres really not many options left. granted i spent a lot more getting it where i want it but its been a blast.
Yes, after some checking, the '06 SE Fatboy's are still 5 speeds. The plus side to the SE is that the cost of a regular Fatboy and then all of the additions they add, would be quite a bit more then they are asking for the SE. Of course, if the upgrades they do don't appeal to you then it would be better to get a regular and do it yourself.
