08 Dyna mags on 2011 Blackline?
Searched high and low...confused by axle sizes and year/model differences.
If I wanted to run 08/09/? Dyna Lowrider 19/17 mags on my 2011 Blackline, is it doable with minimal pain in swapping bearings, spacers, etc.?
Not worried about the fender/fender struts, as those would be swapped for something different anyway.

Hey,
Sure you can use wheels from the Dyna.. mine is also a Blackline 2011 and I use touring wheels (they have the same hub size as the Dyna).. BUT!!.. one important detail is the fact that the hub on the rear wheel is offset on the belt pulley side, it is actually 1/2 inch larger on that side.. so to account for the offset you will need to use a hub spacer like this one:
http://vulcanworks.net/store_4/produ...9&cat=2&page=1
That is actually the one I bought.. part number 3912
The Dyna wheels are all 25mm axle diameter... make sure you identity the axle spacers with a sharpie or something.. as the axle spacers are of different width on each side of the axle for both front and rear wheels.
Also... you need to get pulley bolts that are 1/2 longer.. get grade 8.. and torque them to specs!!!!
Here is a pic of the spacer once it is installed on my bike:

Here is a pic of my Blackline 2011 (or whatever is left of it LOL):

great info about the 1/2 hub spacer and that you are able to use touring wheels. could you tell me more about the rims you used? year or years that would work and off what models or any other rims you know would work in the rear. also what size did you use for the rear and would it still fit under the stock rear fender. any help would be great. love the bike but hate spokes and just didn't know what kind of headache i was in for till i went looking for a rear rim. thankz
hey e2950.. what year is your bike? ....adapting a wheel depends on the type of axle your bike has.. .if you can find a Sportster or Dyna, or Touring wheel that has bearings with the same axle size as the one in your bike then it makes your life a lot easier... in that case a spacer like the one I indicated in this thread should do the trick. ... now.. if you want to adapt a wheel that has much different bearing size... (like.. for example.. a 2000 dyna in a 2015 softail) then things get complicated real quick. here is a link where I explain in detail what it takes to accomplish (or not) such task... :-)

e2950.. . you are correct about the wheels types and years.. the same applies for Sportster/Dyna.. I know Sportsters switched to 25mm axle in 2009.. although perhaps there was a model that was updated to 25mm in 2008.. In fact.. my softy right now has two Sportster Iron wheels (my favorite HD wheels) as you can see in this picture:
