Default Rim question

I have an 07 street glide. I want to put an 18 in rim and tire off an 11 street glide on the front. Will it work without any modification.

you will need a 25mm axle & the spacers from the 2011 not really modification - just different parts

you wouldn't have to change your axle, if you did that you would have to change the fork legs that hold the different size axle. You would change the bearings in the wheel to fit your older bike. The new bikes have 25mm bearings, and yours is 1". Pretty simple swap. Everything is for sale... if you like my black agitator

wrong!

forks are the same where the axel sits

get your 2011 18" wheel, get 2011 axel, spacers, and nut
swap your rotors over to the 18" wheel, the rotors from the 2011 are to big you must use your stock rotors
install
ride happy!

i did this mod before i got my 21"
you can get the axel, spacers, and nut from harley i think it was around $80 for everything.

It will work fine as stated above!

Here are a couple links to threads covering this same subject (including one from me!):

Will a 2010 front SG wheel fit on a 2006 with no issues?

18" Street Glide Wheel on my '04 RK Custom

Hope that helps!

Thumbs up wheel swap

Ok, not real sure on rotor sizing on the 11 but I just installed an 18" agitator on my 06 Electra glide.
I removed both my stock 06 calipers and upgraded to the 08 or newer Brembo calipers. For now I am going left side caliper only. I found a set of used ones on Ebay and they bolted right on. The only real issue is that the Brembos use the shorter caliper bolts and the old ones use one long and one short but since I was only doing a single side caliper I raped the other short one I needed from my right side stock caliper. Brake fulid is DOT4 on both. I read where I should change the front master cyliner to the Brembo style as well, so I bought one, but decided to go with my factory 06 one that was already on the bike...works fine!
I bought an 18" agitator wheel, tire with both rotors from a great guy here on the forum and since it was from an 09 I already had the thicker rotors that are needed to make the swap work, already installed on the wheel. I had to buy an axle, nut & washer & wheel spacers for 08 or newer(25 mm on 08 and newer & factory 06 is 1").. NON ABS for my application. I installed the 25 mm bearings, the bearing shim as required and spacer tube (all included in wheel install kit below) and was good to go.
The following part numbers are all Harley parts
Axle P/N 41547-07A $71.95
Axle nut P/N $1.59
Washer for axle P/N 6655 $1.59
Wheel spacers for NON ABS P/N 41458-08 $31.99
Wheel install kit P/N 41455-08C $55.99
The fork legs dont need to be changed they will clamp down just fine on the slightly smaller axle.
It looks GREAT and stops just as well as it did before with 2 rotors. The only BAD thing about running the rotor on the left side only is that since the wheel is made for floating rotors there is no cover to hide where the right side rotor was removed. On the right side rotor, I am going to drill the rivets out that hold the outer rotor to the inner and have the inner powder coated black and that should clean it up nicely.
Good luck! Once you have the part numbers and all its a cake walk!
