1. Can I use a 1" hub wheel on my 2011 25mm rim by just replacing the bearings and will spacers be an issue? Or can it be installed without replacing the bearings?
2. if possible, is it safe? What are the dangers of doing this?
I have no idea if you can get bearings that fit your hub but provide for a 1" axle. The bearing has to fit into the hub without wallering about...
.004 mm difference is on the edge of out of tolerance for a bearing manufacturer spec. unless they are made in Taiwan. Whether it's out of tolerance for a HD wheel hub and/or axle or not, I have no idea.
Why would you want to do this? Buy the wheel you are looking at and have it relaced with your original hub...
Youll need a different axl. The new bearings aren't as wide. I bought new bearings and just took the axle out of the stock wheel and it worked fine. That also depends on the wheel too, if it's not the same width that might not work and you would need spacers too
