Hey Krazie8s, does the quarter fairing help with the buffering? I'm looking at adding something for those longer highway rides. Also, which quarter fairing is that?

BTW, ur bike looks badass!

Not to hijack this thread but that looks damn slick. Love it.

Now I will contribute. I used the HD windsplitter

It is true though, that this windshield works with the aux light setup. I don't have them nor did I want them so I read around and ending using some spacers from my local ace hardware. see link here talking about that.

I have since located the actual hardware needed to make it work which are part numbers 58270-02 (discontinued, but you can call your local HD dealer and they can probably locate them for you in the national database of parts. I found mine at Kent HD in Abilene, TX), then you need 2 spacers part # 5885

I went with the Long Rides shield on my Slim. It works well it just doesn't fit me. I am 5'7 on a good day and it is right in my line of sight.

FFeric that LRS looks good, the HD splitter would look better with black brackets.

I don't have much experience with different brands, but i did learn something about fitment the hard way this month. All of my online research suggested that the correct height for a windshield was around the bridge of your nose. Apparently this causes wind to flow over you reducing buffeting. What i learned was that in trying to determine what height would cause the shield to be at the bridge of your nose, don't sit on the bike with your feet on the floor while holding perfect posture. That is not the position you are in with your feet on forward controls and a bit of lazy slouch. The 1" lower this realistic position put be in caused the shield too to be directly in my line of sight. Drove me crazy in 10 miles. Need to go 2" shorter.
Brand wise I bought a memphis shades and am satisfied with the quality.

That's an old picture. I powdercoated them two days after I got them. But yeah, they look way better in black

Good luck. I'm on my 3rd windshield for my 2016 Slim S and it still does not fit right.
