Bought my 06 night train about 2 months ago. Had 2000 miles on it, and the owners manual shows no signs of having 1000 mile service being done. What have you guys been using for engine oil and trans/primary oil? Am I better of spending more for the H-D oils, or is there a cheaper alternative that will save the same purpose? I have no problem spending more for H-D oils if there is a definite benefit from the added expense. I'm sure this has been covered before, so sorry for a "re-post". Thanks in advance.

 

I use HD chems only (non-synthetic). Why HD as opposed to another brand? I dunno...

 

I use aftermarket synthetic in the engine and tranny, and regular in the primary.You can bet HD is'nt making their oil, someones doing it for them.A lot of guys I know use Mobil 1, I like RevTech 20/50 synthetic.
