Default Blackline apes

Just wanted some input from some fellow blackline owners on what apes and cables they have used. I have done a few mods already and am looking to put on some apes any help would be appreciated.blackline.jpg

To each his own man, you have a beautiful ride. I have never in my life figured out why people like ape hangers. They look absolutely ridiculous and can't be fun to ride.

Oh well, just throwing in my 2 cents lol. Nice ride.

They let you sit upright and not slouched over. Great for your back and shoulders. They look great, too!

Anyways, back to the original topic, I went with Khrome Werks 12" bars with Magnum Shielding cables.

I'm not 100% sure, but the riser holes on the upper triple tree are wider than the standard 3.5" on the Blackline models. That could pose a problem since most bars are knurled for a 3.5" center.

I can't understand why the MoCo went with that design for the bars on the Blackline. I liked the bike when it came out but knew if I bought one, the first thing I would have done is get rid of those stupid looking bars.

Your opinion is just that, but as for how they are to ride, You couldn't be more wrong. They are much more comfortable. They feel weird at first because you have so much more leverage, but you get used to that just like anything else.

There are a few different people that make apes that bolt right into your trees for the Blackline.

Todds Cycle makes apes, and they also make a new top tree that allows you to move the speedo forward and run standard risers/bars behind it.

Burleigh is another than makes Blackline bars, but they are in Australia so shipping might be a bit high.

Hardtail Choppers makes stuff for the Blackline as well.

thanks for all the help I do like todds strip bars they seem like they would be more comfortable. On there website it says stock cables would work but I am not sure how true that is.

Yeah, I'm not sure. I ordered bars for my Blackline from Hardtail Choppers, and then traded it in before they got here.
