Default Bored........so

A little bored so I ordered the new SE cam plate, tensioner, bearings and oil pump for an install next week. My horn died so I also ordered the chrome dual bugle type air horn to add too. I am also tired of hearing cars screech to a stop behind me so I ordered a module to add so that when I hit my brakes my blinkers on the rear will also light up with the brake light but they will still function as blinkers too. I also looked at some new floor boards but DANG!!! The ones I like, matching front and rear, nearly 1K !!!! OUCH !!!!

The tail light conversion is a great thing to do. Got it on my bike and I sure feel better about it. You just can't see the single tail light very well. Did you get th Harley one? If so, after you plug it in, fold the harness backward over itself and put the module down in the recess next to the right hand frame rail. That's the only place where it won't get pinched by the seat. I went through two of them because of the seat pinching the module..

Tony, what is a grand compared to what you have in it already? If it comes down to something you really want. You know you are going to get them eventually. A grand now or a grand later, right?

Installed a new horn on my scoot last night too and I have the HD run turn brake controller too. I had a Kuryakyn module that flashed the brakes like the badasslight but it kept popping the lights fuse...I returned it and got a Hd RTB module but it popped the fuse too...turns out my halogen passing lights along with all the other bulbs was drawing more than 15 amps. I put a 20 in and had no problems. When I went with a led headlight it lowered the load and never any problems with a 15 amp fuse after that.

Can I ask where you got your cam plate etc and what you paid? Did you get new cams too? I will likely follow suit soon.

Btw I love the new horn, I think it it'll wake the dead. I think you will like yours too.

Oh and I can recommend the Kuryakyn led taillight insert....it's super bright and fits the tombstone perfectly. Well worth the $89 or whatever it cost. I tried a cheap led 1157 bulb and it was a waste of money...brake light was not much brighter than running light.

Get the floor boards. What else are you going to spend that retirement money on?

Default Cam tension

Tony been there done that I went for the full package the cam plate heaven duty oil pump the works I did not have to replace my cams they were fine I'm running se 257s in my stage four motor. Suggestion if you are at 20,000 or better I would also go for new lifters while your doing this I did it all it was around 800 dollars for parts but I am set now . Lifters should be done somewhere around 20 to 30 thousand miles but if your doing a job that allows you to do something while your at it might as well do it saves in the long run . I have had the Howard's horns on my bike for about 6 years now they are great nice and Loud the compressor goes behind the original horn cover and the bracket holds both the original horn cover and the new horns the horn works right off the original horn switch I have a relay under the seat I believe it also has an inline fuse it's been awhile. I want to get my turn signals working with the brake but have never got around to it. Tony I just installed a truck phase 7 head light what a difference the price has dropped considerately on the head light paid 179.95 and it's worth every penny along with that I replaced my passing lamp bulbs and installed 50 what LEDs another great addition well worth the money. If you have an 05 deluxe chances are you would have to upgrade your passing lamps they made a change in 06 and to date are still using them they sell an upgrade kit it's about 60 dollars then it was another 70 for the 50 watt LEDs . Any one who like to do night riding I would highly recommend these lights it's a real pressure driving at night the head light is 6000 k same with the LEDs . Knowing you tony you probably all ready changed out your headlight . It's only money and like someone else said you can't take it with you

I'm using the Harley SE Cam upgrade kit. Not sure of the price, my INDY is getting it for me and he gets a break on it. I'm using Timpken bearings and I have new cams I just put in when I did my head work, a set a reaper 574's and my lifters are still like new. The running boards? I'm, still on the fence. Maybe I will wait to see what the damage is on Christmas this year and then after that before next spring.
