We're on the same roads. Sooner or later we'll run into each other

I think there are some people that ride, but I think there are a few main sub forums people spend most of their time in, and I know on my machine, the default window of time for posts is 24 hours, so when you come in here, and don't see much activity, some may forget to come back and check often enough...

I'm looking for some nice rides out of the Charlotte area, day trips for sure and maybe some overnighters. I have people in Raleigh area, so I can always go by that way and stay somewhere and come back this way too.

When it gets hot, I want to go higher into the mountains. In the car it's always been about the destination, and getting to at as quickly as possible w/ as few stops possible. Funny how things change on the bike.

Leaving from Plymouth US 64 East to Columbia, South on NC 94 to Lake Mattamuskeet That brings you out near Swan Quarter @ US 264. Back west on US 264 to Belhaven (Time for fuel and lunch) Stay west on US 264 to NC 32 North just east of Washington Back to Plymouth. Mostly flat farm lands except for the lake and during the spring thousands of geese and ducks and bald eagle nest are abundant( for nc atleast ) the whole ride is around 140 miles.

HWY 50 around High Rock Lake is a good road, scenic good stops and water. I dont have a ride or route specifically, but it would be easy to make one down there.

I went up 321 last weekend. Nice ride but, there doing road work on it. The parkway is closed from blowing rock to boone. But the detour signs are easy to follow and take on a few good back country roads. I left out from Fransico took 89 west to Pilot Mountain then got on 52 south to 40 west to 321 to parkway. I took the parkway all the way north to 58 (Meadows of Dan) down through Stewart back home to 704 and 89. I think it was about 321 miles round trip. Nice weather and a good ride. Need somebody to ride with though.

2- Hwy 321 north to Blowing Rock, (yes, Woodlands BBQ again) take Blue Ridge Parkway south to the end at Cherokee, or if not that far to Asheville) then back east on 74 to I-40 to Hickory.

3- Hwy 321 north to Blowing Rock, take Blue Ridge Parkway north to 421 south, always stopping at the HD dealership there in Wilkesboro, to Hwy 115 south back down to STatesville, then I-40 back to Hickory area.

I should have said any direction on the Blue Ridge Parkway. It's my most favorite road
Hey alanb, where in Conover are you? We just bought a house late last year off County Home Rd close to Springs Rd.

im going to be doing something real close to this, but in the other direction.up 89 and cut over to squirrel spur rd pick up the parkway and take it just past little switz. and take hwy 80 back down to old fort and 40 home.im guessing it well be around 350-370 miles. im just wondering with all the curves to and off the pkwy.and the 45 limit if i can do it in a day.
