Default NC roads

i thought this might be a good way to find some new roads to venture down.if you have a favorite place to go or just know of some good roads to ride post em up.

GREENSBORO AREA
one of my favorites is hwy 89n up through danbury to hwy 66 s. then pick up hwy 268 to pilot mtn. just about any road off of these are good riding too. just plan to get lost.which isnt always a bad thing on the bike.

im in greensboro so most of any i post will be in this general area.going south a good one is south on RANDLEMAN RD.TURN R on COLTRANE MIL RD. this turns into CEDAR SQUARE RD. TURN L on DAVIS COUNTRY.TURN R on BRANSON DAVIS. cross hwy 311 and it turns into BEESNO FARM RD. and will end at FLINT HILL RD. TURN L flint hill turns into CARAWAY MTNrd. and then into OLD LEXINGTON RD.which will take you into asheboro. TURN L onto FAYETTEVILLE ST. not far up TURN R on OLD LIBERTY RD.(this is a good country rd) from here you have a few choices. you will cross hwy 22 and hwy 421 on this rd.id advise go atleast to hwy 421. its worth it. if you saty stright on old liberty rd past 421 it turns into hwy 49. saty on it north to ALAMANCE CHURCH RD.(may be marked as greensboro rd). to return back to greensboro. enjoy the ride and feel free to add yours.

the road I'm on is a good road I cruise SE NC, around Tar Heel, Parkton, Red Springs, etc, etc. Nice country farm roads, a bit flat though, but we'll hit the mtns this summer.

I'm in the Hickory area.

1- I like I-40 west to Morganton, then up Hwy 181 north to Jonas Ridge, then north on the Blue Ridge Parkway to Blowing Rock, then a stop over at Woodlands BBQ, then on back down Hwy 321 to Hickory.

2- Hwy 321 north to Blowing Rock, (yes, Woodlands BBQ again) take Blue Ridge Parkway south to the end at Cherokee, or if not that far to Asheville) then back east on 74 to I-40 to Hickory.

3- Hwy 321 north to Blowing Rock, take Blue Ridge Parkway north to 421 south, always stopping at the HD dealership there in Wilkesboro, to Hwy 115 south back down to STatesville, then I-40 back to Hickory area.

I should have said any direction on the Blue Ridge Parkway. It's my most favorite road

I live off of 89 and 704 west. first house on right. there is alot of nice roads to ride around here, unfortunatly i dont pay much attention to the names. but if u take 8 through Stewart Va. all the to the parkway or u can turn off and go to Philpott Dam. great view there. we should get together and ride. we'll take turns picking the route.
