Default Title?

I got a sportster on Aug 25. Brand new 2014 from the dealer. I financed the bike through HDFS and made my first payment this week. But I received the title in the mail today. I live in Mass, is this normal? It doesn't have anything about lein holders or dealer. Just has my name and address as owner.

I've never heard of that. The lien holder would keep the title until the bike was paid off. This is a silly question, but are you positive it's the title?

Happens a lot. Your lien holder will soon ask you to send them the title

Wow, if it is the title...man your lucky! Unfortunately, You will have to surrender it to the lean holder.

You didnt read my post? Ive had it happen several times. You can keep it if you want but then your lender is going to want all the money back.

Happened to me once a long time ago when I bought a car. About a year later I got a letter from the lender asking me for the title and I sent a letter back stating that since their name was not on the title I was not going to just hand it over to them. I further stated that as their records indicated I was never late with a payment and would continue to make payments until the loan was paid for and that if they wanted the title changed they could file the necessary legal paperwork to make it happen.

I never heard a word back from them.
