Default Sputtering

I have a problem and was wondering if any one has an idea, my bike is 00xlc, with samson big guns, S&S carb and hypercharger, the problem i am having and this just started i think is when i crack the throttle from any speeds when hot or cold the bike sputters like it has a rev limiter, now i dont recall the bike doing this before and i believe i need wires because when i washed it recently it ran the same way until i dried the wires, but i drove it yesterday and it was 70degrees and dry not an ounce of moisture and like i said it did not do it before and i have needed wires for about 2 months just no time to get them yet. Someone suggested rev limiter but i think i would have noticed this before, or could it be wires and they are just brakig down. Any help would be appreciated, thank you all in advance.

when you get to 5900 rpm you need to shift. that will fix your problem

Mine did it when I did the stage 1 rejet I thought I was hitting the rev limiter, turned out I was running way too rich on the idle mixture, and when I turned the throttle enough to hit the main jet I guess it was flooding out the bike. I readjusted the mixture screw down 1/4 turn and turned the idle up a little and now I runs great.

I have had the same problem with my 06 1200Sputtering. Also have a Stage 1. We have played with the Mixture and Idle Screw. 5000 miles in San Diego Sputting down the road. I'm really good at popping the clutch and getting the bike to restart in a turn.

I pulled the plugs 2 day they were black def running rich, i replaced the plugs went 6 miles pulled the plugs black again AKA rich. I am not sure which way to turn the screw long time since played with carbs i thought out was leaner but tried 1/4 turn at time and it got worst, so i went back in, bike will not even idle good, i have autonotive shop can work on all kinds of crap but when it comes to my bike i am ready to give it to a pro, any ideas, frustrated, oh by the way no patients and real **** when it comes to my toys jet ski, boat, bike etc. LOL

Run the screw all the way in , gently touching bottom, then back it out 1-1/4 turns, then run it in till it sputters, then back it out till it smooths out, then back it out till it sputters, then run it in till it smooths out, doing all this very slowly, you should be about right after the adjustments. And if the wires are bad and replace them first, start off right and ya end up right, start off screwed up, ya end up screwed up. When I first read ya post I said fouled plug/plugs.

thanks for the response another stupid question if u dont mind, i did replace the wire with the plugs accel 8.8mm nice heavy wires but after i got done today i washed the bike again and it was sputtering again as if i had bad wires could it be the coil? i also have the chrome covers on the head bolts that slip over he plugs so ot much of the plug is covered with the boot could that be it? sorry all the questions

I don't understand the boot situation, I have covers over my plugs and they do not interfer with the wiring at all. Sounds like you could have a coil problem, or maybe you just wash it to much!
