Default Ignition Module

'99 Sportster 883, 6200 miles on it. I bought it 2 years ago with 3900 miles on it. I guess the original owner didn't really keep up with it or just let it sit most of the time with the low miles. It ran fine up until last fall. It start to back fire (from carb and exhaust), would lose power and would not stay idling. It was leaking oil from the rocker covers as well as had a couple vacuum leaks.

Tore down the whole bike over the past few weeks. Replaced both sets of rocker cover gaskets (three levels on each end), pulled the tank, drained the gas, filled back up with 94 octane. Cleaned the fuel filter, checked the petcock (good condition), changed the fuel line from the petcock, changed the vacuum line on the back of the carb, cleaned the carb and the jets, set the airflow/gas/mixture screw to factory setting and it idles great now....until it warms up. Changed the oil to 20w50 full synthetic, new plugs and wires. Runs good until it warms up. Still back fire, died on the road today but started right back up. Bo need to even really choke to start it anymore. Runs good cold until I try and get on it, but it doesn't like a lot of gas.

This weekend, found a CV carb from a wide glide with only 1000 miles on it. Was super clean. Bought it. Put new jets it in (factory size for sportster 883). The Harley dealer said that carb would work fine, just need to switch jets. Did that. Still doing the same crap!

Its gotta be the ignition module at this point! WTF! Any suggestions? Can someone point me in the direction of a new ignition module that wont break the bank or die out again in a year? Please!

I feel like I have tried everything.....
