New Iron 883 Gas cap
Hi Guys
Just purchased an aftermarket Willie G gas cap but I noticed its not vented, and the standard cap is .
will it be ok to use it or am I going to create problems.
I took it for a run and not noticed any difference and no hissing when I released the cap.
would it be best to drill a pin hole in the unvented cap or not use it at all.
any guidance would be appreciated.Thanks

mich,
It doesn't matter if you use a vented or non vented gas cap, because the tank itself is vented at the filler neck; look inside the fill and you'll see a small metal tube, which extends through and out the tank via a section of tubing to atmosphere.
Sorry for the crappy picture, but it illustrates at least one of the model HD fuel tank vent line locations typically encountered.
