Hello,just to give you some info on a bad idle situation and fouled spark plugs andseemed to be over rich (darn) 06 carb
Here is what was found:
1-not the plugs
2-not bad coil
3-carb set right
4-Here is your lucky winner (fuel petcock) remember theses are vacuumed controlled and that little dirty basterd was sucking raw fuel into the carb and upsetting its poor belly
5-Replaced with new one and that bad *** is running like a raped ape
6-So if you have a bad idle problem this is it
7- Ride Safe

 

Question for you....was it running okay but it just wouldn't idle or did you notice other problems like it lugging/cutting out and popping backfiring????

 

Yes it would run ok at higher speeds
but when you would let off throttle sounded like it was't firing
real bad at idle or at a stop sign bugger to keep running and holding front brake on.
