Default crashed

Son just got his Sportster 13 days ago.Today I got a call at work he had crashed into a buddy he was riding with. Buddy went to turn and my son didnt realize he was turning. After the trip to the hospital he was lucky to escape with minor scrapes and bumps.Just goes to show it can happen at any time. Now I feel bad because if I didnt ride he probably wouldnt want to either.

That sux. Good to hear thathe is OK!

Dont take it personal. It can happen to anyone at any time. My dad rode, but gave it up when I was barely young enough to remember. I would have still chosen to ride. I think it is in the blood. I wrecked pretty good, on a dirt bike, when I was young. Kinda the same situation. My buddy turned, and I didn't know he was going to. BAM! hit him, thengrabbed a fist full of throttle, right into a junk yard metalfence!Luckily had a helmet.

It wasn't because of my dad. It just happened.

Like I said, glad that he is OK! I hope he gets back in the saddle!

10 to 1 his friend didn't use his turn signal.

My buddy does that all the time, and I've had a lot of 'close calls' in almost tapping the back of his bike.

Don't blame yourself. The way it appears it wasn't even your son's fault. I got in a bad auto wreck and my dad didn't blame himself for driving cars.

Have your son tell his friend to use his f#@*&^ turn signals from now on.

Even if you didn't ride yourself... he may have done it on his own anyway...

No one in my family ever rode that includes extended family...

I've been doing it for 40+ years... none of my kids ever took an interest...

Stuff happens... and hopefullywe learn from it...

When I was a newbie, a friend and I use to ride all the time (side by side)... one day we locked handlebars for an instant, neither of us went down, but taught us a valuable lesson...

We decided we'd leave the bullsh!ting for when we stopped...

I'm sure you're son learned one too...

Don't be so hard on yourself... a kid following in his dad's footsteps is a good thing in most circumstances... At least he wasn't on some street corner doing dope!!!

Ride on...

Glad to hear he got away with minor injuries. My son crashed twice when he was in his twenties, sport bikes both times. Now he rides a tourer (not HD, where did I go wrong ) and is older and wiser.

Young riders/inexperience/feeling of immortality= crashes.

Don't beat yourself up over this, he will now be a more aware and better rider.

You didn't go wrong, but you're mistaken. He's now older. when he gets wiser. He'll get the Harley.

Glad to hear he will be o.k. It certainly isn't your fault. Growing up is a painful learning process.
