Default removing front pulley cover

Anyone managed to remove it without removing the heat shield, slip on or brake rod?

What year bike you have.

My 1998 I had to loosen the exhaust and swing it out of the way. There is a long bolt that won't clear the exhaust. And the master cylinder bolts go through the cover. So you gotta remove that. Just let it hang.

Also if i remember correctly you have a exhaust moutning tab that is on the rear pully cover bolt. I have had mine off for awhile so i dont really remember. Either or its a pretty reasonal remove. I do like the look of the exposed pully. I have alway decided to still have it covered.

Yeh dumb of me not to say what year, it's a 2016 48. I do have a mounting tab on the rearward side of the cover and 2 bolts. Guess it won't be as quick as I thought what with taking the exhaust off. I'm not removing the cover permanently, have a friend who is going to machine a big hole in it just a little smaller than the pulley. Got the idea from someone on here, thanks for the replies.

save some time and just wait till you get an exhaust. you could get by with just the muffler remove i think. not the whole header.

I'm in a neighborhood that would be unhappy with a loud exhaust. But actually probably a good idea thanks
