Default eBay luggage rack anyone?

2019 Sporty 1200NS Iron. Anyone have any experience with eBay luggage racks? I've been eyeballing the Harley one and checked eBay before ordering it and the eBay one is less than $20, the Harley part is $189. Not trying to cheap out, but, I mean isn't it just metal tubing?

Please educate me.

Thanks all!

I had one, I gave it to a member here. Only removed it because I changed the rear fender and it no longer fit.

This costs 10 times as much but looks to better all round as you don't screw it to the fender.

When not required it can be taken off the bike.

It is not on an angle so stuff won't roll off while you are strapping it down.

Did it damage the original fender paint at all or are their like rubber separators or something there?

I have it in my forty eight. It has rubber gaskets so it doesn’t hurt your paint. Works fine and looks good

It did not have any type of gasket, so I made some using some black motocross number plate vynl. You could use thin rubber also, but I had the vynl laying around so I used it, worked great.

I have one of these eBay racks; it is what is and back to to back with a Harley version it’s hard to spot any difference. I used a little protective tape to avoid any fender marks. It’s been on and off a few times (when I take a pillion). For the price : try one. The quick release/detachable ones are clearly much better but again it’s down to what you want to spend.

I used both types....the ebay ones and the HD ones. In fact, I still have the HD quick-release ones Sold the ebay ones when I sold the bike.

The ebay one looks better on the bike but it is less functional since it is contoured to the fender, but it works.

For me, it did scratch the paint as it came with some flimsy pads for mount like neoprene fabric. For mine, since the rack had to be on the fender to be stable, my seat mount sat the the rack mount then screwed into the fender

The HD one fits perfectly and stable as it should....but doesn't look as stream-lined as the ebay one.

Thanks everyone! I'm going to give the Ebay one a go and see what that pans out. Appreciate the input!
