Default Handlebar Risers

I sometimes do 450+ mile days on my '07 XL883. I must have a numb butt, because the stock seat does not bother me at all but I do get tired from leaning to reach the handlebars. I don't want to get a seat that moves me forward because my forward foot controls are just the right length for my legs. I'm considering moving the bars back slightly. Drag Specialties makes a 2.5" pullback riser (#DS-290126) that their catalog says will fit '74 thru '07 XL883 Sportsters. The front of the 3.3 gallon tank is fairly high, and it looks like the clearance would be real close with only a 2.5" riser.

I was wondering if anyone here has mounted these risers and knows if there is enough clearance from the tank. Or maybe has another solution. I don't want the bars to be much higher than stock; just a little closer.

Thanks
CBR

Default RE: Handlebar Risers

I've seen risers that are various lengths offered on ebay. Maybe if you get a bit taller set, you won't have to worry about the tank clearance. I'm actually thinking about doing the same thing you are.
