RE: Helmets
Acceptable? I didn't realize one had to be accepted, by what? Wear whatever the heck you want. I just went on a 600 mile ride and wore a fullface helmet the entire way and no one said a thing and I could care less what anyone thought. Now I am buying a 1/2 lid and I will have all 3 designs for whatever I feel like wearing. I get a kick out of people that worry about what is acceptable. Just be safe and ride.

RE: Helmets
I don't worry about how "cool" I look, I worry about how "cool" I am.
For cool weather/interstate/chance of rain - full face modular
For hot weather/short rides on the back highways/ quick run into town (small town I live in), I tend to wear my DOT approved skull cap.
I like both for the reasons mentioned. At times I might change what I wear/when I wear it, but generally thats it.

RE: Helmets
I started riding sport bikes and cafes way back and way up North. I always had full face helmets...its what I'm use to. Now, I'm in the New York area and with a Sporty. New York is a very fashion conscious place.[8D] I get comments and looks from the some folks. But guess what? I'm too old to change my ways and to care what people think anyway. However, if I cave in I might just have to get that Buell tomatch my headgear.

RE: Helmets
Depends on where and when I'm riding. During the warm months I usually wear a half helmet. Unless I'm in a state that remembers this country was built on "freedom", then I wear a du rag and a smile!
When the temps drop below 40ish, I switch to a full face helmet.
It's a personal choice, wear what you're comfortable wearing.
