Secret Combination?
I can't help you with that one alexcue. Mine came on the bike and I don't have the original to compare. There is a rubber gasket around the cover, but that's all it is. If you find out what this "adapter" is, I'd be interested in knowing that myself.
ronn39, ya that's kinda the same boat I'm in. The bike already had the Stage 1 done to it, so I don't know how it should be "stock".
btw, i really like the looks of that cover, and i see online the other chrome parts are pretty shnazzy!
God knows, this is going to be an expensive hobby...

OK. Thanks for the info on how to get the Swingback cover off, that was mystifying me!! The adapter that you guys are talking about is only required if the Stage 1 upgrade has been done on the bike. If no Stage 1 has been done then you do not need the adapter & the Swingback cover is just a swap fit.
UPDATED INFO: If your bike is fitted with the Stage 1 Screamin Eagle High Flow Air Cleaner kit # 29042-04A then you need the adapter kit # 29848-04 to fit the Swingback cover. Hope that helps!

I had this air cleaner trim on my bike with the stock air cleaner. When I installed the Screamin Eagle air cleaner, I had to get slightly longer hex head bolts to re-install the trim. I suspect that's what the difference is on the swingback cover also.
