Some of you know me. I had a Street Bob for a few years, but sold it before I moved from California to San Antonio. Getting the bug again. Truth be told ... Never really liked riding the Bob at all. Could never get comfortable. Messing around today, I saw the Nightster & was like Wow, a nice small, no nonsense bike. I dont ride a ton, but do love to ride. My problems with my Bob was that I was never that comfortable on it. I'm 5'4" & about 140 lbs. The price certainly seems right. Tell me what you guys think, i'd appreciate it.
What kind of "uncomfortable" were you on the StreetBob? I'd think the Nightster would be a perfect fit with your height/weight - although there are some reports of a harsh suspension and less than cushy seat. Not really designed to be a comfo-cruiser.
Never could reach the ground real comfortably as well as get the bars & overall, well, just everything never really felt right... I even lowered it an inch in the back & still didn't feel right...
Well, in that case - I'd say start shoppin for your Nightster!
If you don't mind looking around for a good used one, you can really find some deals right now. (Hurry, before spring!) Some guys have reported selling/buying 07 models really cheap lately. The Nightster is very popular, though - I'd think once spring comes around, it would be more diffucult to find a good deal.
I know exactly what you mean by "uncomfortable" .....I had a Yamaha Roadstar and almost gave up riding because it really never fit me, I sold it and bought a Nightster and it's a blast, I'm about yourheight & weight and the Nightster fits perfect. The ride is a little rough at first, but the handling and performance make for a really great ride.....If you test ride one try and put some miles on it, mine seems to be alot smoother ride with each mile......or maybe it's just the fun factor.......good luck !
No impulse buy... that's bad ( lol ). I've done that far too often.
We'll see. I certainly do like it alot, but just not willing to dive into dept right now. If it was to be impluse, it would have to crazy jump out at me & the deal would have to be amazing.
That's good thinking. I'm a big "cash only" advocate, myself. While you are saving your coins for a cash purchase (or a sizeable down payment), you'll have plenty of time to shop around and make sure you get what you want. There will still be plenty of bikes available when you are ready to buy.
