Question: 1996 XL883 Ignition coil
Hello,
I recently purchased a 1996 xl883 and so far its been a GREAT ride being my first harley. I pulled the carb off to clean/ blowout the jets as it had a low rpm pop. The carb was gunked up and all appeared well, reinstalled the carb and when I fired the motor up the rear cylinder it seems like the plug is not firing. The cylinder does not get hot like the front jug. I pulled the plug wire off and it was corroded up. I took off the coil and it was corroded as well. I went out and bought a coil as I had power to coil leads. I put in the new coil and it fired up and sounded normal then five min later same thing happened, rear cylinder not firing. Is there something I'm missing or check next? Could a plug wire cause this ? Any help would be Greatly Apprecitated.
Thanks in Avance,
Dave
