TRAILER
Any one out there trail their Sportster in an enclosed trailer? I'm trying to go as light as possible with adequate room, if practical, for up to 2 Sporties. 6X10 single axle work? When not trailing I would like to insulate and heat for winter storage. I would appreciate your comments and recomendations.
Thanks,

I use a 6X12, single axleenclosed trailer to keep two of our bikes (the third is in the living room). You can work on a bike inside it, but it's tight and the other bike has to be out. I don't think a 6X10 will hold two bikes. Maybe a 6X10 will if one faces front and the other faces rear, but that would make it difficult to tie 'em down if you use it to transport them. Get a trailer with rear ramp door and a roof vent. Condensation is your worst enemy, but with a vent I haven't had any problems. The interior has3/8 inch plywood on the sides, exposed metal at the roof, but no insulation any where. In the winter, unless you heat it continually, you will get condensation once the heat is turned on. Trust me, I know. I learned to deal with the cold if I gotta work on a bike. Now, I pull it intothe living room, or I take it to a friend's heated garage. I installed some of the white coated-metal shelves to put helmets on and to hang our leathers. No mold or rust in 5 years by keeping the roof vent cracked about an inch. Enough for air to get in but rain stays out.
I installed a plug from an RV supply houseon the outside of the trailer that receives the end of an extension cord (a male110 volt "inlet" as opposed to a typical household 110 "outlet"). Inside, I wired a couple of fluorescent lights and a couple of 110 outlets for Battery Tenders, radio, etc.
One more tip, don't let anybody give you crap about using a custom, portable garage (trailer) for your bikes.

Why not get one of the RV style toy haulers, they make them as small as 20 feet that will hold two sporties. You can haul them out , set up camp for the weekend and take day trips from the campground. I like it because it combines camping with riding in areas I normally wouldn't get to ride in.

After connecting the 10 gigawatt Mr. Fusion to my truck, I still only get 10 mpg when towing. That's after the fresh bannana peel is loaded.
Send me a graft from your money tree, would ya?
Mean while, back at the Bat Cave...
EDIT: Sorry. Just being cruel.
