Front End Replacement
So here's my vision. \\; For the past six months I've been wanting to install a wide glide front end on my 2006 1200 XLC. \\; Just recently I've ordered: an Avon Venom 90/90 21" white-walled tire, a billet headlight w/visor, stainless steel braided clutch/brake/throttle/idle cables, 32" dragbars with a 5" pull back, and chrome housing controlsall in an effort to change the profile of the bike's front end. \\; Ideally I'd like to add a few more degrees of rake to the bike (5-7*), to give the bike a bit more of an aggressive look (I love Cajun's bike!). \\; But I don't want to go with raked trees (due to potential problems with handling)...Nor do I want to go the AME route (due to cost and the 9* minimum on those kits). \\; So I've been looking around and found this:
 \\;
http://shop.demonscycle.com/Shop/Control/Product/fp/vpid/4764027/vpcsid/0/SFV/31995
 \\;
My question, which I can't seem to find the answer to, is what size neck would my '06 1200 XLC have? \\; Would it be 1"? \\; Because I am trying to determine whether or not the above forks would be compatible with my bike's neck. \\; \\;A secondary question would be whether the stock handlebar riser, brake caliper or wheel would also be compatible. \\; My guess is that these wide glide forks would only work with 84’/99’ FXST style wheel assemblies with a single disc (that seems to be the case with many of the other wg forks I have run into). \\; If this was the case, I'd have to purchase a compatible wheel and brake caliper. \\; Am I missing anything? \\; Pardon my ignorance. \\; Or is there some way that I could simplify things?
 \\;
Then again, I could just go with a set of wide glide trees 0-3* rake. \\; That would solve the caliper and wheel problem. \\; Don't know about the issues with the riser here though\\; would my stock risers be compatible with an aftermarket WG 3T?
 \\;
I've been debating these issues with myself long enough and would really appreciate advice or insight any of you might have.
 \\;
Thanks,
Z

I dealt with Semen Cycles one time. Never again though!
They lied about the front end, both before and after the sale (when it was determined that it wouldn't fit an '04 or later bike). They offered a terrible refund deal. I sold front end on eBay for a loss.

Never again will I send those "people" a single dime.

thank you for the clarification. Are these the same guys that are are trying to advertise for free and promising that they are changing their ways on customer service? They signed up as a new member to announce the opening of a new store. Are these the same people you are referring to? Thank you for your time as I need to buy some parts. Yep, that is the very same company. I hadn't seen that link you posted until now. I will not go there to trash them, in their thread. But, I will share my dealings with them here.

I ordered a wide-glide, raked and extended front end for my '07 Sportster. They told me over the phone, and in emails that these would fit perfectly. They also said I needed to order their steering stops to go along with it. So, I ordered it all. Total came to around $475 with shipping I think.
When they got here, I opened the triple trees package....they looked real nice. Then I unwrapped one of the forks. It had scratches all over it. Sure, they were small scratches, but still they were scratched. The other fork had a much deeper scratch in it. It was obviously scratched before chrome, because of the way the finish was. There was chrome inside the scratch! I called them back to mention it, and they all but called me a liar! Said there was no way, they were inspected before shipping. And the steering stops were missing vital parts. Again, I was a liar.
I figured that I'd go ahead and install them anyway. Well, turns out they DO NOT fit an '07 Sportster. They were made for '04 and before frames. They could have fit with a LOT of grinding and work. So I called them again. Again, they treated me like I was completely full of crap! They said they have them mounted on other new bikes. But, there was ablosultly no way possible that could have been true.
After about the 3rd call and email, they said they would refund my money, less shipping and a 15% re-stocking fee........if they were returned in perfect condition!!! They were far from perfect when delivered! So, my only 2 options were to ship them back to them, at my expense and have them reject them for scratches, then pay for shipping back to me, or just sell them as slightly damaged on eBay for a loss.
I ended up selling them for less than 1/2 of what I paid. But every time I spoke to anyone from Demon Cycles, they practically called me a liar. They had terrible, terrible customer service!
I went and looked at their eBay feedback, and the feedback they were leaving for others. I concluded that they were downright disgusting people!! They were leaving horrible feedback in retailation for negative feedback they recieved. They were just the worst company I had ever seen as far as treating customers with respect.
 \\;
I will never, never, never recommend these ****** to anyone, even enemies.
 \\;
Given that, I do hope this guy is serious about changing the way they do business, but he has a lot of changing to do as far as I'm concerned. But even if he does begin getting good feedback, and praise from others.....I will still never trust anything from any company named Demon Cycles.

Most companys sell different kits for pre 04, \\; 04 to 06, and 07, 08 years.
there has been some frame changes through these years so
my thinking is that one size does not fit all.
The price looks good, probably the cheapest i've seen
but sometimes you get what you pay for.
I bought raked cups from vulcanworks.com and i think its a superior product.
they also do trees. \\; \\; Also Hawghalters.com...Ive heard good things about them

Kahaone, thanks for the heads up on Demon Cycles! \\; I thought their product must \\;be too good to be true. \\; I'm just glad I found this out before it was too late. \\; I suppose I'll go with Hawghalters or Accutronix... may be a bit pricey, but will probably pay off in the long run.

Thanks guys!

Thanks guys!
Well... I finally made up my mind. \\; I went with a wide glide conversion kit from Vulcan Works:

 \\;
This should hopefully have everything I need to do the conversion. \\; The price wasn't bad, either \\;($450). \\; I just can't wait to get these 3Ts and put it all together. \\; I'll be sure to post pictures when the front end is complete.
 \\;
Peace,

 \\;Just get a set of trees you don't need a complete front end. Mine are made Covington Cycle, they are 4 degree I think. \\;They have been on my bike for years and they work great. \\; \\; \\; \\;
