I went with the full pipes on mine. I didn't care for the look of the stocks, and while I do like the looks of the V&H Straight Shots, I don't like the staggered look as much as full pipes, so I went all out. Intake & EFI remap is next.

Either way you have to have the mapping done, so if money is an issue get the slip-ons so you have extra money to pay for the mapping.
If you just go with slip-ons no remap is needed I have cycle shack slip ons and i didnt get the remap and it is fine. Now once i get the black se heavy breather then i will get the remap but until that happens which my birthday is coming up so hopefully pops will get it for me the i will foot the 220 it costs here in seattle for the remap.

I would agree with harleychick on her choice of the Rineharts if you choose a slip on system. Excellent quality and sound. A little pricey, but well worth it in my opinion.

I agree with your dealer and many of the other posts...Slip-on's are fine....Nothing wrong with the stock headers...get what you like the most and what sounds the best to your ears...good luck.

Yep. I have over 6,000 miles on mine with Khrome Werks mufflers running the stock air intake and efi map. No problems.

If you use slip-ons,do you still need to get the sporty remapped? My Harley dealer in Oz says no need. This is confusing.

No. You only will need a remap if you upgrade your air cleaner.
