If you use slip-ons,do you still need to get the sporty remapped? My Harley dealer in Oz says no need. This is confusing.
This is the #1 question on this forum...far and away.

I spoke to a local inde performance shop after I put the Rineharts on and he said the following:

The bike should not be ridden until it is mapped and tuned properly and has the air cleaner kit installed. The bike will run hot and can cause injury. He knew I didn't want to hear that but said if I didn't I would have problems.

Needless to say the bike is now sitting until I get this done, which I am hoping to take care of this weekend.

As great as the pipes look and sound, I don't appreciate the popping and can't afford to damage the bike.

Hope that helps

What a CROCK OF CRAP!
I wouldn't let that indy NEAR my bike!

What he SHOULD have said is that THE BIKE SHOULD NOT BE RIDDEN UNTIL IT IS MAPPED ****AFTER**** THE A/C IS INSTALLED.

I may have it worded wrong. The guy is a top fuel racer and one of the best independents in my area. The local dealer sends work to him when they can't do it. I trust he wouldn't steer me wrong.

I did the cycleshack slip-ons and love the sound. Next will be the PCIII with the SE AC.

Sorry to jump on him like that...bottom line is that you can add Exhaust withOUT remap. It's when you CHANGE THE A/C that you need to deal with the EFI with a Reamp/PCIII/Fuelpak etc...

Question just for clarification......Does your above statement go for both slip-on's as well as a full exhaust?

My Short Shots cam with this on the Box:
STOP: You need a FuelPak when you install this Exhaust.
That's BS!!! You don't need ANY Fuel Management UNTIL you INSTALL a high flow A/C.
THAT'S THE FACT JACK
