Default Metzeler tires and rain

I have a 06 1200C, Im in need of new tires soon, however because I encounter a fair amount of rain and wet roads, do I go to metzeler tires as so many people swear by or do I stick with dunlop

i can't seem to get the stockers to grip in rain or throttling hard outta turns so i'm going with the Metz...everyone i talk to says they are better grip wise hands down

Lots of opinions about Metzlers and Avon Venoms. Nothing really works on an exhaust covered wet road IMHO.
Just take it easy in the rain brother!!!

If you can get some K comp metz tires, go for it. I ran them on my old honda and they gripped good in the rain. On a road that is wet fron just a minute of rain, not much will grip very good.

Having run through several sets of both OEM Dunlops and Meztlers 880's on my bikes the only difference I could find in wet road performance between the two was when riding over wet "tar snakes." The Metzlers just don't get as squirrelly as the Dunlops do.

On dry roads I'm comfortable with either brand although I would give the Metzlers the nod in cornering performance. I've always got about 50% more mileage out of Dunlops than the Metzlers and have decided to stick with them moving forward.

BTW - the best wet road tire I've ever owned was an Avon. Only problem with it was terrible mileage and a bunch of cracks that developed in the threads.

Hi, I just put a set of Avon Venoms on My 06 1200C and love them . Alot smoother ride , better cornering. I purchased Avon Venoms as I had them on My last ride and they still looked great at 12,000 miles. Hoping for the same resultson My Sportster....WVleo

One thing about the Metzler vs. the Dunlops...on the Metz, the tread runs differently than on the Dunlops so that when you are on a grated bridge or grooved pavement, the bike doesn't get the wiggles.
