I washed the bike yesterday and saw some spots of rust on my exhaust does anyone have any suggestions on how to take it off. Its just surface right now but i want to get rid of it quick.

If they are chrome you can use a fine grade of steel wool. After cleaning the pipes up I would get some Mothers metal polish and wax the crap out of them.

For chrome, use a bit of crumpled aluminum foil dipped in Coke. Takes surface rust off without scratching. Then wax, as stated above.

That's cool but steel wool will not scratch chrome and it doesn't introduce phosphoric acid into the mix.

Never had a problem with it on my ride. No scratches &, as long as you rinse well, no acid damage either.

Thanks for the input I went to walmart and picked up a can of never dull and it took care of my problem. 4 bucks and it takes the tar and road grime off too.

I know a guy that used to clean carbs with Coke. Worked really good. And people drink that stuff.....

In grade school we did a little experiment where we placed a slice of bolgna in a bowl filled with coke. In a few days the coke had started dissolving the bologna. I always wondered what it did to the insides of me but still I kept drinking coke.
