Question Quick Question

Hey all,

I was wondering if anyone knew of an online cross reference chart for oil filters, or do I HAVE to use one from the dealer. I am looking for a 30 micron filter (preferably in black instead of white or orange). TIA, Evan

The problem is that the OP asked for, and smartly so, for a xref list for 30 micron oil filters.

The K&N filters KN-171 or KN-171C specified in most xref's are 10 micron.

The HD brand filters are actually very good quality & made by Champion.

HD Black 63805-80A
HD Chrome 63796-77A
HD Chrome 63813-90T Long

I use the 63813-90T and pay ~$9.00 for it at the local dealer compared to $16.00 for the K&N at Autozone.

You should be using 30 micron filters on your EVO Sporty and most xref filter lists do not list the micron spec, be careful.

Good info. from Charley as always.
I use Fram 98% of the time so microns makes no difference to me (too much crap about oil and filters on here so I won't debate)

I wish this had came up a couple of days earlier. I couldn't find that Long filter number. And had ZERO time for research, or a call to cHarley.

Got that part number saved now, after the next 5,000 miles.
