Default Extending brake line

Hey everyone,

In the process of adding the HD mini apes to my 07 Nightster, gonna re-route the cables and bend the metal brake line for now until I get new cables.

My question is, when I order new cables, specifically the brake line. Do I have to order the line the whole length and replace to metal part or can I replace from the top of the metal piece to the brake lever.

I did a search here on the forums and never found anything regarding this.

Maybe that says alot about me not knowing what I'm talking about....lol

Any help would be appriciated.

Thanks

I just put mini apes on a few days ago, I went with the Magnum pearl black SS braided lines. Your stock line is 48" long, I put a 52" line on. Its on the long side, but that way if I ever want to go bigger I can. I noticed the Denis Kirk catalog was the easiest to use. I went with the 60 degree end, but I wish I would have bought the 180 degree end.

52" Really and your stock was 48"...huh? That's interesting, my mini apes are close to 12" on 3" straight risers and I honestly gotta say my 44" is a little long (42" would be good). If I had a 52" I'd have to wrap it around my bars a few times just to take up all the slack

I'm sorry, my factory brake lines are 42" long. I also have 12" mini apes, so I added 10" to the factory length. I don't need to wrap it around my bars but its on the long side yes. I routed it back through both the factory routing points and made a rubber bushing to hold it in place. Like I said though I can see me going bigger in the future.
