Hey guys, I've read a lot of threads where guys have installed their 14" apes with all stock wiring. So I went ahead and started the project when my 14" r6c bars came in. All wires line up and should be ok. EXCEPT the front brake line. I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong but it just isn't long enough. Or so it seems. I measured it and it is approximately 38" long. So my question is for all those that have just used stock wiring, did you in fact have to change the brake line out? Thanks!

I did 12" bars with stock wires and cables. I remember having to disconnect the brake line at the triple tree for it to work. 14" will be really close to being too short. Can't say for sure because I haven't tried it...
Just swap it out...trying to "finagle" the line to work will take longer than simply replacing w/longer line. Also, you don't want to brake line to be tight when turning bars...could prove disastrous.

I have no issue swapping it out. Unfortunately nobody stocks extended cables where I am in Canada. My bike is unusable now until I order something online and wait a cpl weeks for delivery.. ugh.
Couple weeks? Damn where u live? I got mine in 3 days. Vancouver BC.
14 inch bars...u did it right. Anyone doing stock cables is one hell of a micky mouse setup. You have to get extended cables if you want the proper job. I was short about 1.5 inches...yes I could of made it work, but that would compromise how I ran my lines etc, especially with abs, the module should not be hanging but kept mounted under the triple tree. Be patient and it'll pay off.
I put 16s on my old 15 street Bob without changing the wiring or brake line. I did loosen the lower brake line mount and take some of the slack out but it still worked without being too tight. If the bars were any higher I would have ordered a longer one.
