If you end up going that route, I'd appreciate some direction and pictures. I am very interested in that look but not sure how to go about it other than finding someone to do it for me.
I had it done because I don't have a lot of time, it was expensive but it was worth it.
My 48 is like a one-off.

My dad (RIP) told me that.
Just do it !

Wow, I haven't seen a 48 yet, but they do look great. The small tank is very retro of the early Sportster tanks. I have always liked the Nightsters, but I may have found a new love!!!
The Forty-Eight tank looks great - I just wish they didn't make the Sportster lettering so gigantic. IMO it would have looked way cooler with something more subtle or perhaps an old 50's or 60's style emblem.
You can.
It was $1500 for the strip and logo ( I supplied the stencils ), and that counts for disassembly, and reassembly, and brush of the steel. and the Matte Clear-Coat.
About $550 for the pipes and A/C, installed.
$300 for the Power Commander V, and $270 bucks for the Dyno-Tune and one-off map, Dyno-Jet did'nt have a map for my Samson pipes and Arlen Ness Big Sucker Stage-1.
I am saving for the $450 dollar Harley Springer Seat, and the $170 dollar Licks Solo Bag.
Best money I ever spent !
