Default Large Headlight

Hi - I'd like to put a large headlight (7"), like I had on my old bonneville, on my sporty. Anybody done this?

Thanks

FD2;

Yes I did about a month ago. Got a 7" headlight off ebay for $51. Has everything except the h4 bulb. I put it on a 08 Nightster, basically remove the nightster headlight and mount, drill a hole little larger than 3/8" hole in the middle of upper tree and then bolt the mount on upper tree( under side of tree is concave). mount headlight. as far as wiring went, I wanted to pull wires out of headlight plug, by pushing in a clip and pull wires out, but was unable to pull them out, so I cut the wires and match and solder them to the wire from new headlights. Using a Silver star bulb, really lights up the road.

Great idea.... I would DEFINITELY put a larger headlight on the bike if you want it to look ugly and stupid.

Thats your opinion SF i think the stock lights are to small and a bigger light looks much better i'll be fitting one when i get one at a decent price.

Some people think yellow headlights are "ugly and stupid" too. To each his own.

I think a couple of people have used a 7" light off a Fatboy. Search on ebay and you'll get some hits.

This is the 7" headlight I used. 1st thing I did was, sand it down and painted it black.

I'd put a headlight from an 1849 locomotive on my bike if I thought I could wire it.
