Iron Bagger aka B-1 Bomber Bagger
Finally got some saddlebags that I thought looked decent...and would work without much modifications. Boy...was I wrong!!! According to the Saddlemen fitment chart..these were supposed to work....Well...Not for the Iron! I was in too deep with trying to get the Saddlemen Drifter Teardrop Saddlebags (with Shock Cutaway) to work since I bought them online from place that only allowed exchanges. So.....I tried to look into ways to relocate the license plate and blinkers....This guy had a great idea:

But after looking at cost..and aggravation......with some research...I found this which Harley is now providing for the Iron:

To prevent additional aggravation with not having a bike stand, I decided to take the Iron to a mom and pop cycle store up the road. I had already experienced putting a sissy bar on without a bike stand...It is tight under that rear fender!! Anyways these guys were great...actually hard mounted the bags..without the $80+ quick release kit from Saddlemen. They created a fitment that would allow me to unbolt from the inside.... I only plan on taking them off when washing the Iron...But it is a nice feature...So for the time being...I am going to get the pull out liner bags. The Harley relocation kit was actually nicer than expected. The license place really sticks out for cops to see now...lol...and the blinkers seem to have better visiblity since they are moved back from the original location....So...Here are the pics. The saddlebags are not for everyone....but...now that I am commuting to work...I needed the storage.... Now...I have to sell my Mini Pony Express Saddle Bags that require no modification......

Saddlemens have a lot of space, even with the cutout. I have the non-teardrop style on my bagster, and they work great. Who cares if people don't like them, I'd rather throw my stuff in bags than in a backpack.

My thoughts exactly! I still have a sissy bar bag...but the space in the saddlebags just do not compare. I will now be able to carry my rain suit, work items, etc...and still have space for other stuff.
