That pulley cover from Joker Machine is nice. I wanted to get one too. but then only work for the newer bikes. I want to get rid of the pulley cover too and my bike is a 94 and set up like the OP's. I'm planning on getting forward controls, but have to figure out how to mount the brake cylinder now.
